Norwood, MA Well-positioned in a near-urban setting and conveniently located within walking distance from public rail transportation. The Crossings in Norwood, MA is a popular condominium community. Abbott Real Estate Development called upon the CURRIER & Associates team to design and implement a cosmetic renovation strategy for transforming apartments into condominiums. The primary challenge was to appeal to two diverse audiences: 55+ Active Adults as well as young urban professionals, including individuals and families. The client’s vision called for a warm and inviting yet fresh and original environment that could resonate with all residents as their ideal “home”. CURRIER achieved this through thoughtful coordination, and re-design of all wall and floor finishes, artwork, window treatments, accessories and furniture for the common areas as well as two distinctly unique 1,200 sq-ft model units. The common areas include four lobbies, a fitness room, a TV/game room and pool area. Each model unit is comprised of a kitchen, living room, two baths, two bedrooms, and a deck area. The more Traditional model has standard finishes interspersed with upgraded paint selections in warm golds, greens, reds and browns. This backdrop provides a beautiful contrast with transitional cherry furniture. The second bedroom is smartly presented as an optional office. The master bedroom’s rich cherry sleigh bed is accented by soft gold walls, creating a warm and comforting environment. The Urban Model appeals to those who seek a contemporary environment. Design elements include a full selection of upgraded finishes, floors, countertops, hardware, lighting, mirrors, fixtures and paint selections. A dynamic color palette of rich reds, blues, teals and browns harmonizes with mahogany furniture. Furniture selections combine contemporary elements with transitional styles. The master bedroom has soft teal walls, with a master bath in rich red with limestone vanity, dark cherry cabinets, porcelain tile floor, brushed nickel fixtures, lighting and hardware. The kitchen features rich cherry cabinets, black granite countertops, brushed nickel and chrome details, cherry flooring, and upgraded lighting. Each model includes a living and dining space featuring a dining table and bar that seats six. The is furniture arranged to showcase the open floor plan and abundant possibilities for entertaining. This newly designed community opened in August 2004. |
