Quincy, MA Our objective was to develop a comprehensive facility standards program for building finishes, furniture, window treatments and artwork, which could provide a context for designing specific Shield’s MRI clients. We developed three schemes that were interchangeable with light, medium and dark wood tones. The overall program provides a professional, inviting and fresh new image. We approached both aspects of this work by establishing the standards in harmony with designing a new unit at The Lahey Clinic in Peabody, MA. In addition, this MRI group had other locations that needed upgrading, so we next applied the design concept to the Dartmouth Clinic. The new design of the lobby set a distinguished and more cohesive feel to the space, as well as making it more comfortable through the use of supportive and ergonomic seating. Upon completion, both patients and staff have expressed enthusiastic appreciation for the fresh new look of the facilities, which are considered to be warm and inviting. |
