CURRIER created interiors to complement the thoughtful architectural design of Arcadia Design and enrich the environments of two deluxe models at Pin Oak, a premier active adult community.

The client’s objective was to appeal to a variety of tastes within the 50+ active adult target audience by offering two different models. One was based on a fresh yet traditional environment. For the second, CURRIER developed a contemporary and transitional luxurious environment. Each design combines rich colors and finishes, custom millwork and cabinetry, distinctive wall treatments and the use of tiles and granite. The CURRIER team selected tasteful appointments to help achieve a feeling that would relate to the lifestyle interests of prospective residents.

The design concept embraced each space's beautiful oversized windows, 16-foot walls and cathedral ceilings to create a cohesive, balanced look without one element overpowering another. The challenges were met through CURRIER's creative use of wall treatments, wainscoting and window treatments to create visual drama and accentuate comparably scaled architectural elements, such as the distinctive columns.

The kitchen's stainless steel appliances and cherry cabinets invite the expert or amateur chef to experiment, as well as serve guests in the stylish dining room. One dining room features complementary wall covering and chair rail-height wainscoting. In the family room, use of molding around the high ceilings lends rich detail to the décor, and the CURRIER team selected mahogany furniture to balance the drama and boldness of these other design elements. Overall, the ambiance of each model supported the client's goal of providing an elegant, luxurious appeal to the active adult market interested in a premier environment with a custom look and ready-to-move-in atmosphere. This project was completed in October 2003

The result is a warm and hospitable home that features versatility by design, whether as a wonderful setting for entertaining large and small gatherings or enjoying cozy, private evenings.
