  • Flowers and Plants for your Deck
  • Potted or Container Vegetable Garden

Dear Reader,

As summer arrives and the weather becomes warmer, we have the opportunity to move some of our activities to the great outdoors. For many, we start to think about ways to create comfortable spaces to relax and enjoy our yards and decks. There are economical ways to do this by rearranging furniture and/or adding some accent furniture or accessories to take advantage of what exists. In addition, you can bring visual interest to areas with perennials from your gardens as planters on the deck. You might consider a container garden as an option if you have a smaller yard or perhaps as an interactive gardening activity for seniors who may have trouble stooping and bending.

We hope one or more of these ideas help you add that little something extra to your outside living environment this summer.

Enjoy!

They just toss a few pieces of furniture on it and call it a day. But just as with any inside room, there are lots of things you can do to beautify your deck. One of the easiest and most affordable is to supply it with an ample supply of flowers and plants.

Potted or Container Vegetable Gardening

You can start a potted vegetable garden quite conveniently at any location in your house that has access to direct sun. Container vegetable gardening is becoming an extremely practical option with the advent of dwarf and bush varieties for almost all vegetables.
