The benefits of sustainable or "green" design are increasingly affecting the marketplace and the products that are being offered. In a recent assisted living project, for example, we supported the client's SeniorGreen® program, where residents’ comfort and environmentally sound management intersect, through the use of low- lumen and compact fluorescent lighting that complemented the specified high-efficiency heating and cooling systems. Whenever appropriate, we carefully choose products that are considered to be sustainable due to their sustainable origins (ex.: cork flooring), potential recycling, low energy requirements or Energy Star rating, or non-toxic components. We also meet frequently with vendors to provide feedback that helps them create new products to recommend, select and specify for our clients in the future.

As a company, CURRIER & Associates supports not only our clients, but our community in contributing to a more sustainable, green world. We believe that contributing to a “Greener Greater Newburyport” is at the core of contributing to a more sustainable world. Our CEO, Art Currier, is the chair of the Newburyport CleanTech Center, and was a leader in developing a "Going Green Initiative." This initiative has played a key role in the formation of the Greater Newburyport Eco Collaborative, which brings together the City of Newburyport, the Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Newburyport Eco Network for educational initiatives and events that promote sustainable products and practices.
