Our CEO, Art Currier, is the chair of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce’s "Going Green Initiative." This initiative has played a key role in the formation of the Greater Newburyport Eco Collaborative which brings together the City of Newburyport, the Chamber and the Greater Newburyport Environmental Network for educational initiatives and events that promote sustainable practices. We look forward to recommending, selecting and specifying more innovative and proven green products in the future. Increasingly, the benefits of "green" design are impacting the marketplace and the products that are being offered. In a recent assisted living project, for example, we supported the client's SeniorGreen® program, where residents’ comfort and environmentally sound management intersect, through the use of low lumen and compact fluorescent lighting that complemented the specified high efficiency heating and cooling systems. Whenever appropriate, we carefully choose products that are considered to be green or sustainable due to their coming from sustainable origins (ex – cork flooring), potential to be recycled, low energy requirements or Energy Star rating, or non-toxic components. We also meet frequently with vendors to provide feedback that helps them create new products to recommend, select and specify for our clients in the future.
