Litchfield, NH An active adult community built by The Northbridge Companies and located on the Merrimac River, the development consists of New England-style homes clustered in small neighborhoods. Sensitively designed to capture privacy, each home is situated to allow for wooded or water views. The CURRIER design team was asked to develop a concept that would appeal to a "mid-market America" consumer who values quality and security. Many prospective residents are from rural feeling communities and looking for a new, secure and convenient home. CURRIER's design included a focus on reinforcing the architecture by using soft colors that were dramatic enough to be appealing but soft enough not to intimidate. In terms of features, each unit has upgraded options including granite countertops, hardwood cabinets, tile, stainless steel appliances and hardwood flooring. The flavor of these new homes is convenient and contemporary, a style that matches the desires of the prospective active adult customer. Good lighting and airy spaces were critical. The "look" that was achieved is appealing to a broad range of potential owners and will be used as a standard for future units. Completion Date: June 2006 |
