The Crossings is comprised of 8 residences that were originally built by SK Properties, a leading developer of affordable assisted living residences in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. These projects ranged from $3 to 5 million each and were completed prior to the firm being acquired by Benchmark Senior Living in 2001. CAI became a member of SK Properties’ team after we developed the initial concept and design for their first facility in Chelmsford, MA.

In 2006, we began working with Benchmark to oversee an upgrade campaign for all of their facilities. For Haverhill Crossings, they designated one wing for conversion to an Alzheimer’s residence. Our design concept was based upon ensuring that the environment was therapeutically validating, uplifting and in harmony with the remainder of the facility.
