CURRIER & ASSOCIATES, Inc. Announces Completion
of the Interiors for Major Assisted Living Project

Newburyport, Mass.—March 5, 2008—CURRIER & Associates, Inc., a full-service interior design firm specializing in creating enriching environments for living, healing and working, today announced the completion of the interiors of a major new assisted living project owned and operated by The Northbridge Companies of Burlington, Mass.

Called Stafford Hill Assisted Living, the new 85-apartment state-of-the-art assisted living community located in Plymouth, Mass. totals 75,000 square feet, with three stories of living residences. The community provides both traditional assisted living (60 apartments) and a separate, secure program for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairments (25 apartments). Additionally, the Stafford Hill has upgraded 6 Captain’s Quarters apartments with hardwood floors, granite countertops and crown molding.

CURRIER created the interiors for the model apartments, along with Stafford Hill’s wellness center, beauty parlor, activity and multi-purpose rooms, an outside recreational area, main dining room and pub.

Stafford Hill is a service-rich assisted living community for seniors on the South Shore and Cape Cod. It is the first new assisted living facility developed in the Plymouth market area in more than eight years.

Stafford Hill Assisted Living also includes many leading-edge features such as “green” elements within the design and operation of the building. Based on Northbridge’s SeniorGreen® program, where residents’ comfort and environmentally sound management intersect, the facility incorporates many energy conservation measures such as low lumen and compact fluorescent lighting and high efficiency heating and cooling equipment. Recycled building materials were used when appropriate. Additionally, it offers The Brain Gym®, a first-in-the-nation program made up of stimulating and fun mental exercises.

CURRIER worked closely these past two years with the developer, contractor and Northbridge to ensure a successful major re-development. Recognized as design experts within the aging population market, CURRIER has an in-depth understanding of the needs of Alzheimer and senior residents.

“We are passionate about creating environments that help seniors thrive in their elder years and stay engaged in life surrounded by beauty,” said Sharon Currier, president of CURRIER. “Many of the adult children of these assisted-living residents tell us how happy and comfortable they feel to see their parents live in places of such warmth and comfort.”

Since 1979, CURRIER has built a reputation of excellence and integrity, completing more than 800 projects for senior living, healthcare, hospitality, commercial, institutional and residential clients.

With a solid team of 18 professionals, CURRIER is now ranked in the top 10 percent of independent interior design firms in the country. The company provides consulting, interior design, interior architecture/space planning, purchasing, installation and project coordination services to local, regional and national clients.
